Islamabad United won the match by 5 wickets. Islamabad won the toss and elected to bowl first. Opening batsmen's gave United a decent start. They lost their first wicket on the score of 35 in the 5th over of the match, that was the wicket of Ahmed Shehzad. On very second ball of the same over United bowler, Muhammad Sami made Lbw out to Kevin Pietersen. In 5 Overs Gladiators made only 37 runs by losing 2 wickets. Later on they tried to make good partnership but unfortunately in the 10th over Rossouw Was Caught out on the bowling of Shane Watson. At the end of 10 overs, they made 67 runs by losing 3 wickets. Sarfaraz Ahmed was caught out on the bowling of Zohaib Khan in the 13th over. At the end of 15 overs, gladiators put 102 on the board by losing 4 wickets. In the 16th over Asad Shafiq was bowled out by Asad Shafiq on a very first ball of the over, he was the one who was playing smoothly, and he made 45 runs. Thisara Perera joined the party in that over and gave Watson a shocking six. So in last, they completed their inning by making 148 runs by losing 6 wickets.

Islamabad needed 149 runs to win in 20 overs, Openers went into the ground and made magnificently 34 runs in 5 overs without losing any wicket. In 6th over Dwayne Smith was bowled out by Muhammad Nawaz. In the 8th over Nawaz got the wicket of Brad Haddin. In 10 overs they made 67 runs by losing 2 wickets. Later on in 11th over Misbah was made Lbw by Hasan Khan. Afterward, Sam Billings & Shane Watson drove their team to chase the target with ease. Sam Billings played the excellent inning and made 78 off 50 balls with a great Watson who made 36 runs. They chased the target with ease and complete it with 5 balls remaining.
