Result Playoff 1: Peshawar Zalmi Vs. Quetta Gladiators
Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and elected to bowl first. Quetta Gladiators had a marvellous start from openers Luke Wright and Ahmed Shehzad. Hence Luke Wright were bowled by Hassan Ali in the 3rd over of the match after scoring 12 from 7 balls. Kevin Pietersen made his entry and crashed the zalmi's along with Shehzad by sixes and fours. Both Played brilliantly till 10th over and made 121 runs. Shehzad caught out on Darren Sammy bowling on the last ball of the 10th over. Whereas in the 12th over Kevin Pietersen also caught out on the bowling of Wahab Riaz. In 15 overs they made 153 runs by losing 3 wickets. After that runs started coming slowly and more 4 players were dismissed by Zalmi bowlers. Over that period of 5 overs Gladiators made only 47 runs. They completed their inning with scoring 200 runs by losing 7 wickets. Ahmed Shehzad and Kevin Pietersen played superb knock.
Peshawar Zalmi started chasing target of 201 runs. Zalmi Openers failed to give good start to their team. They lost their 2 wickets of Kamran Akmal And Samuels over the score of 3 runs. Afterwards, Muhammad Hafeez and David Malan boosted the Zalmi innings and made Zalmi position strong. Zalmi made 86 runs by losing 2 wickets in 10 overs. Hafeez made 76 off 46 balls whereas David Mallan made 56 off 30 balls. Hafeez dismissed by Muhammad Nawaz in the 14th over whereas Mallan got out in the 16th over by Tymal Mills. In 15 Overs Zalmi made 157 by losing 3 wickets. Afridi came in and started showing his BOOM BOOM magic. Although other players didnot contributed but Afridi make sure his responsibility and made 34 off 12 balls and dismissed by Anwar Ali in 19th over of the match. In the 19th over Zalmi needed 2 runs off 3 balls. But those 3 balls became so heavy on Zalmi's. Muhammad Nawaz made hattrick of wickets on those 3 balls and made Quetta Gladiators way into the Final of PSL 2017. Quetta won the match by 1 runs.
